The solo project of Newcastle-based Shanell van Koeverden, Van Fleur puts her powers and prowess as a songwriter, producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist on full and shining display. No stranger to genre morphing, with Van Koeverden playing trumpeter in support of an array of acts, Van Fleur has bloomed out of a breadth of musical influence and experience. With all writing, arrangement, instrumentation, vocals and production performed by Van Koeverden, her creations are the product of multifaceted and meticulous craftsmanship and artistic finesse.

With a deep intuitive approach, a few semesters of a music production degree and a humble bedroom studio setup, Van Fleur has crafted

a tantalising collection of original tracks exploring themes of young adulthood, introspection, spirituality, love and queerness.

Van Fleur’s debut release, 'Mother Earth' is a sultry and empowering sonic transmission, featuring soaring silky vocals that hypnotically trace an ode to human nature and Mother Nature, while playful instrumentals and percussive elements dance in complement. 'Mother Earth' is a textured and ethereal soundscape, with a melody that shimmers across a driving, trance-inducing groove.
